Tracey Lindeman is a Montreal-born journalist whose work has appeared in The Guardian, Al Jazeera, Fortune, the Globe and Mail, Motherboard, CityLab, Associated Press, CBC, Vice, Financial Post and many others.
She has Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in journalism and 20 years of writing and editing experience. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Chicago.
Outside of writing and editing, Tracey enjoys learning languages, travelling, strong coffee, punk rock and taking pictures of manhole covers.

My first book, BLEED: Destroying Myths and Misogyny in Endometriosis Care (ECW Press, 2023), is a bestselling non-fiction book on endometriosis, medical gaslighting and discrimination. I am currently preparing book proposals for several new books.

I teach undergraduate courses in the journalism and communication department at Carleton University in Ottawa. Courses taught include Digital Journalism Toolkit, a second-year intro to digital platforms, and the fourth-year Freelance Survival Skills.

2018 - 2020
I replaced AP's Canada bureau chief when he went on vacation. Work was primarily centered on covering breaking and developing news. I also worked as a freelance AP stringer in Ottawa and Montreal.

Coverage included Lac-Mégantic train disaster, elections (municipal, provincial, federal), Quebec far-right and identity politics, cannabis legalization, gun registry, domestic terrorism, fentanyl and more. I translated dozens of French Radio-Canada stories, including complicated legal ones, for the CBC English site.
